Doppelganger

The project for the Master of Fine Arts Degree with RMIT University

‘Doppelganger’ signifies the ambiguous nature of ‘the second self’: something that is concealed, disguised, camouflaged by its facade, and to render it into tangible images and objects. However, the outcome should keep its original nature, one of obscurity, meditation and uncertainty. Shadows and silhouettes have important roles as projections of ‘the other self’: something that is unpredictable and uncontrollable. Transparency persists in the entire framework as an important element, echoing the nature of the project them, which is somewhat uncertain and invisible.

The project began in Hong Kong, and completed in Pittsburgh PA. The works were exhibited at Pittsburgh Filmmakers Melwood Gallery, from August to September 2008.
