The Way of samsara

The project for the Doctor of Fine Arts Degree with RMIT University

‘Samasara’ is the Sanskrit word for the perpetual cycle of death and rebirth in which all our souls are inescapably caught. Buddhists believe that the karma we accumulate in the present life determines which of the six realms of existence we are born into in our next life. In the Buddhist Cosmology, all beings are inherently imperfect. The fragmented and wounded bodies are the embodiment of human imperfection. The material used - glass, paper, translucent fabric - signify fragility of human life.

The works were exhibited at the Pittsburgh Glass Center Gallery, from November 5 2010 to January 25 2011.
